
Why not a normal socket?
Charging from a household socket is slow and keeps the wiring under load for many hours at a stretch. A dedicated charger has its own protection, communicates with the car and stops charging if something is wrong.
That is why a wall charger is the standard solution for homes — and far cheaper than repairing an overloaded installation.
Which power should you choose?
On a single-phase supply, 7.4 kW fully charges most cars overnight. With three-phase, 11 kW or 22 kW cuts that time considerably — but only if the car accepts that power.
If you charge every night and drive under 100 km a day, 7.4 kW is usually enough with no compromise at all.

What does overnight charging cost?
At the €0.19 night tariff, a 36 kWh charge costs about €7. For a driver covering 1,500 km a month at 18 kWh per 100 km, that is roughly €51 of energy per month.
